Artist and teacher

I studied piano, piano pedagogy and composition at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the heart of my birth city. I have been teaching piano at the mdw since 1996 and was appointed professor of piano in 2005.

My international career as a soloist, chamber musician and Lied accompanist includes performances with renowned orchestras and ensembles such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Ensemble Wiener Collage.

I’m a frequent guest at leading concert venues in Europe, Asia and the Americas as well as acclaimed festivals including Wiener Festwochen, Salzburger Festspiele, steirischer herbst or Wien modern. My numerous master classes join me with students from all continents.

Education – analog and digital

Piano lessons take place at my private studio in Vienna’s seventh district. Its inspiring atmosphere and acoustic features set the perfect stage for studying piano literature from the 17th century until today. I also teach piano improvisation and musical theory and provide coaching for performers and teachers.

The studio features two top-notch grand pianos: a Steinway B (2008) and a Blüthner (1912). Audio and video recording is available for analysis and instructional purposes. I work with professional pianists as well as keen amateurs of all ages.

Modern equipment enables hi-quality remote learning extending my reach to students all around the globe. I teach in German and English. Translation to other languages is available upon request.

As an experienced and explorative teacher I am familiar with a broad scope of literature and teaching methods. Yet the didactic instruments are applied individually and differently. Every student is a new beginning.
